Monday Stuff On the Way to Other Stuff: Adventures with Charley -- and QN is Gone

I had a beautiful bed of garden greens, with another bed of green beans alongside.

Note emphasis on the word 'had.'

Sir Charles the dog managed to break through a layer of netting around the greens, and re-dug that bed nicely. Too bad it didn't need it. Ditto for the beans, which now have a huge gaping hole in one side of the bed. So much for half my garden.

I'll try to replant the shallots, and put in some kale. (It doesn't mind cold as much as other greens.) The other greens will be salvaged as much as possible. Maybe a double or triple layer of netting will deter Charley next time.
He's outside, in disgrace. He knows Mom is angry at him -- but I'm not sure he knows why.

     The stinker.

I could kill him, if I didn't love him so much.

What? What'd I do??

QUILTER'S NEWSLETTER is stopping publication. For some of you, that's not a big deal. For others, like yours truly, it strikes a stunning blow. I worked for QN for four years, and learned a lot of my quilting chops there. I made good friends, many I still talk to, though some are gone now.
I love that magazine, and would not be here without its influence. This is a real shame.

A judge agreed to consider Judicial Watch's request for a deposition from Hillary Clinton -- the hearing is July 18. (Today -- Monday.) If you're not sure what I'm talking about, go here.

The (indicted) Florida legislator who announced that police could have stopped the Orlando shootings, if they hadn't spent so much time investigating her. Plus her 'charity,' which ostensibly was collecting scholarship money for poor minority students, but seemed to be using the cash for fancy parties, Beyonce concerts, car repairs...and paying a 'close family member' $375,000 for doing little (if any) work. Said legislator, Corrine Brown, also announced that she was being persecuted just as much as the men shot by police earlier this month. (She's black, too. And yes, the racism card got played for other issues, as well. Go figure.)
